The Houston Rockets turned in another poor performance at the NBA Summer League on Thursday, falling 102-83 to the Portland Trail Blazers to move to 0-4 during their stint in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, in his first start, former Washington Huskies basketball star Great Osobor turned in his best performance of his week with the Rockets.

The 6-foot-8, 250-pound forward from Bradford, England, who was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in his only year on Montlake, played just 19 minutes and turned in a team-high 16 points on a 5-for-9 shooting performance and added 5 rebounds, which all came on the offensive glass, 2 steals, and an assist on the night.

However, the NBA draft’s No. 16 overall pick, 7-foot-1, 19-year-old Chinese center Yang Hansen, and the Blazers proved to be too much. Hansen, who played just 22 minutes, turned in 8 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks, including a swat of Osobor.

The former Husky star, who led Danny Sprinkle’s team in points, rebounds, assists, and steals last season after following his head coach from Utah State to Seattle, got a bigger opportunity after former Oregon center and five-star recruit N’Faly Dante suffered a sprained ankle against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.

With Dante’s status in question, Osobor could be in line to receive a larger workload on Sunday when the Rockets wrap up Summer League play against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
