The event will be streamed live on the Trail Blazers website at the following link: https://www.nba.com/blazers/now. Blazer’s Edge will post an article shortly before the press conference with the information, giving readers a space to react to and discuss the historic event in real time. Then, of course, our site will have coverage following the event reflecting on all that was said.
The Trail Blazers officially announced the signing of Lillard on Saturday with a press release. The deal is for a reported three years and $42 million, with a player option for the final season and a no-trade clause.
Lillard, who just turned 35, suffered a torn Achilles in April during a first-round game with the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Playoffs. Then Milwaukee waived Lillard on July 1, paving the way for a highly anticipated reunion between Lillard and the franchise he represented for the first 11 seasons of his NBA career.
The Achilles injury means that Lillard is expected to be out the majority or all of the upcoming 2025-26 season.
