It’s not very often that NBA players make their thoughts on baseball known. For New York Knicks star Josh Hart, that was exactly what happened recently.
Hart, who has become a key player for the Knicks over the last couple of years, recently took to social media to share his thoughts on Pittsburgh Pirates superstar pitcher Paul Skenes.
Skenes, who has become one of the most popular players in baseball, has been elite once again this season. However, his team has not done much winning. Regardless of his elite performances, he simply can’t seem to pick up wins.

That led to Hart calling attention to a wild statistic about Skenes back on July 15.

In a post on X, Hart quoted a statistic from Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh. Skenes had recorded a 1.20 ERA in July, but hadn’t picked up a win in a game since May. That did not sit well with Hart.
He posted and made it clear that he would like to see Skenes get traded by the Pirates.
“For the love of God,” Hart wrote. “This is malpractice…someone make the MLB force a trade.”
Obviously, his post comes just ahead of the MLB trade deadline on July 31. Skenes is extremely unlikely to be moved, but Hart would like to see it.
Speaking of Hart and his basketball team, New York is coming off of a tough loss in the Eastern Conference Finals to the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks have made a couple of nice moves this offseason as they look to take the final step into the NBA Finals.

New York signed both Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele in NBA free agency. Both players will have a chance to carve out roles for the Knicks.
A new head coach was also hired by New York. Following the decision to part ways with Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks brought in Mike Brown to replace him.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Hart and Skenes. More than likely, the superstar pitcher will not be traded, but Hart is holding out hope for a change of scenery for him.
