Deion Sanders, coaching his two sons, Shedeur and Shilo, on the Jackson State Tigers and Colorado Buffaloes, has taken over the college football news cycle for the better part of the last four years.
Now, just imagine the hysteria of LeBron James teaming up with his two sons, Bronny and Arizona Wildcats basketball commit, Bryce, on their hometown Cleveland Cavaliers after the former two are traded from the Los Angeles Lakers and the latter is drafted in 2026.

That’s the scenario Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz floated the hypothetical in a piece exploring a return to home for the Akron-born all-time leading scorer in NBA history.
“The best-case scenario would be one of the coolest endings the NBA has ever seen,” Swartz said of a LeBron return.
“LeBron James returning to the Cavaliers in 2014 and winning a title two years later did wonders for his legacy and gave us arguably the greatest NBA Finals of all time. This season will mark the 10-year anniversary of that team, with James now set to help lead players like Mitchell and Mobley to a championship.
“If Bronny James is included in the trade, the Cavs have a chance to make this a complete Northeast Ohio family affair. Cleveland also has possession of its own second-round pick in 2026 when Bryce James will be draft-eligible following his freshman season at Arizona.”

James opting into the final year of his contract and not negotiating a new one has many on edge as to whether or not he’ll stick around in Tinseltown. Luka Doncic’s arrival has only complicated things, prompting the “most delicate superstar transition in NBA history” since the February blockbuster that landed the Slovenian star.
Like Coach Prime wanting to coach both of his sons in the NFL if the opportunity arose, James might be interested in a similar situation, though it’s an extra layer of special getting to share the court with two sons.
We’ll see if Doncic would agree to such terms in L.A.. We know the Cavs would, at minimum, consider it since they’re in cap hell and could use the cap relief of LeBron’s expiring deal and smaller next contract.
