The Houston Rockets earned their first win of the NBA Summer League on Saturday after sneaking by the Minnesota Timberwolves by a final score of 104-101 to finish their time in Las Vegas at 1-4.

Former Washington Huskies star forward Great Osobor turned in a modest performance in the win, after earning his second start in the five contests. Across 25 minutes, Osobor finished with 9 points on a 4-for-10 shooting performance, going 1-for-2 at the free throw line and missing his only three-point attempt of the contest.

He also added 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, an assist, and a steal, but also picked up 5 fouls and turned the ball over twice in a modest performance.

Across his five games in Nevada, Osobor was on the floor for an average of 16.3 minutes per contest and tallied 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He also chipped in with an assist and a steal, along with .6 blocks per game while mainly playing off the bench.

He was thrust into a starting role in Houston’s last two games after former Oregon center N’Faly Dante, a five-star recruit coming out of high school, went down with a sprained ankle. In Dante’s absence, Osobor is most likely hoping that he showed enough potential to receive a contract to join the NBA G-League to start his professional career.

If that doesn’t come to fruition, the 2024-25 All-Big Ten Honorable Mention could take his talents overseas and try to rejoin the Summer League again in 2026.
