LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – After starting the Summer League off to a scoring hot 4-0, the OKC Thunder’s preseason run has ended. In their preseason finale, the Thunder struggled offensively, posting only 80 points on 31.8% shooting from the field.
After leaving Las Vegas for the first portion of Summer League, OKC struggled, losing 3 of their last 4 games.
But it’s not all doom and gloom. OKC saw big performances from its young players across its summer stint, particularly from Ajay Mitchell and this year’s second-round pick, Brooks Barnhizer.
Mitchell averaged 20 points in three games of play, along with 6.3 rebounds and 4 assists in his trio of games. While Barnhizer averaged 12 points per game and he was 2nd in steals with players who played at least 5 games, with 3.2 per game.
OKC will have to wait until early October to take the floor again, with the NBA Preseason when they face the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 5.
