The Sacramento Kings have been quiet for the majority of free agency thus far, but their roster for the 2025-26 season is beginning to take shape.
Sacramento reached an agreement with free agent forward Doug McDermott this week, reuniting with the sharpshooter following a 42-game run last season.
While there are still two months of offseason to go until teams report for training camp in late September, here’s a look at where things currently stand for the Kings as we move into the ‘quiet period’ of the summer.

Falling short to the Hornets in the Summer League Finals may not have been an ideal ending for the Sacramento Kings, but they’ve received plenty of well-deserved recognition for their efforts in Las Vegas.
Nique Clifford and Isaac Jones earned recognition as the NBA announced their NBA 2K26 All-Summer League First and Second Teams on Tuesday.
In six games played, Sacramento’s recent first-rounder tallied 15.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. It’s easy to see why his teammates, coaches, and staffers often referred to him as a Swiss Army knife (Swiss Army Nique?).
Managing to impact the game in a variety of ways, Clifford also remained efficient in the process, converting 49.3 percent from the field and 11/24 from three (45.8 percent). Not to mention his clutch nature, stepping up in moments where the Kings needed momentum shifted back in their favor.

When is the next Sacramento Kings game?
Sacramento Kings preseason basketball is on the way, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer before we see the Beam Team back in action.
