The Philadelphia 76ers brought Lonnie Walker IV back over to the NBA at the trade deadline after he had began the season overseas. A former first-round pick of the San Antonio Spurs back in 2018, Walker spent six seasons in the league before going overseas, and the Sixers brought him back on a deal.
In 20 games for Philadelphia, with seven starts, Walker averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 42% from the floor and 35.4% from deep. He knocked down eight triples in the season finale loss to the Chicago Bulls which was one 3-pointer shy of tying the franchise record for most 3s in a game with nine held by Tyrese Maxey, Danny Green, and Dana Barros.
The Sixers declined Walker’s team option making him a free agent. Now, the 7-year forward will once again head overseas as he will reportedly sign a deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague.
Walker will now look for his next opportunity in the NBA as he will look to eventually work his way back. For now, he will continue his basketball career internationally.
