Detroit — The Detroit Pistons are set to sign wing Colby Jones to a two-way NBA contract.

Jones, 23, is 6-foot-6 and last played for the Washington Wizards. In 15 games for Washington last season, Jones averaged 8.7 points while shooting 46.6% from the field, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals.

Jones started his career as a second-round pick for the Charlotte Hornets in 2023. His draft rights were traded twice before he joined the Sacramento Kings. He played a season and a half with the Kings and their G League affiliate — the Stockton Kings — before being traded to the Wizards during the NBA trade deadline in February.

He has played 32 games in the G League as a member of the Kings and Capital City Go-Go (Wizards). Jones has averaged 17.2 points on 48.9% shooting, 39.6% on 3-pointers, 6.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game.

Jones’ signing marks the third and final two-way player the Pistons will have on their roster entering next season. He joins Daniss Jenkins and Tolu Smith III, who will be at the helm of the Motor City Cruise, the Pistons’ G League affiliate team.
