Boston Celtics fans got their first glimpse of Hugo Gonzalez during the franchise’s five-game run at the Las Vegas Summer League. Gonzalez joined the Celtics as the 28th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, having spent the past two seasons with Real Madrid.

Gonzalez certainly has some room to improve, specifically with his ability to handle the ball. However, once he becomes accustomed to the increased pace and physicality, some of those issues will likely iron themselves out. Nevertheless, the rookie forward certainly showed encouraging signs of long-term upside and could potentially find himself fighting for minutes on Joe Mazzulla’s roster next season.
