Isaiah Joe and Jaylin Williams got out of their parade car to celebrate with fans during the Thunder In The Fort parade.Fort Smith honored the two basketball players after they won the NBA Championship with the Oklahoma City Thunder.The parade down Garrison Avenue brought hundreds of people out.In a pre-parade news conference, Williams said he loves being able to celebrate the community that got him where he is.”There’s nothing better,” Williams said.Joe and Williams both played at the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Clubs. They each won state titles for the Fort Smith Northside Grizzlies, although in different years.They each also spent two years playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks. Joe played in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, while Williams played in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.In 2022, the Thunder drafted Williams, and Joe signed as a free agent.They’ve been teammates ever since and won the 2024-25 NBA Championship together.
