According to the Utah Jazz, they have waived guard Jaden Sprinter.
This is probably not a huge surprise. Utah has two new rookies who have joined the rotation, and both look very promising. One of them has the potential to be a cornerstone player if everything pans out.
That alone made it difficult for Springer to earn a roster spot on the Jazz. But, if he had really stood out, there might have been potential to make the team. Utah did have the worst record in the NBA and the league’s worst defense. That gave Springer a chance to prove himself with his defensive ability. The issue was it never really stood out.
On top of that, his numbers weren’t great. Springer shot 38.9% from the field last season and 25% from three. Those are the types of numbers that have you being released in the offseason. We’ll see if the Jazz have any more moves left. They will likely need to make a few more moves as the season approaches to clear space on their roster and accommodate any additional moves they may want to make.
