The Detroit Pistons have had a busy offseason thus far as they have made multiple moves to upgrade their roster and compete for a top seed in the Eastern Conference next season.

Of course, the Pistons also added a young guard in Chaz Lanier during the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft and many people around the league had their eyes on him during the Summer League.

Detroit finished the Summer League with a 3-2 record and while Lanier impressed, two other players showed out for the Pistons in Las Vegas.
Ron Holland II

Of course, Holland II was the fifth overall pick by the Pistons in the 2024 draft and he played a large role for them during his rookie season.

Despite this, Detroit had him suit up for three Summer League games where he dominated in Las Vegas.
In those three games, the 20-year-old forward averaged 21.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 4.0 steals per game while shooting 52.8% from the field and 46.7% from three.
Holland II was shut down after playing in three games and after his performances, it looks as though the Pistons have yet another young star in their core heading into next season.

Daniss Jenkins
Jenkins went undrafted in the 2024 draft out of St. John’s and was on a two-way contract with the Pistons last season and he entered the Summer League looking to carve out a role at the NBA level next season.
In five games, the 23-year-old guard averaged 14.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 44.9% from the field and 42.1% from three.
Jenkins was Detroit’s best player outside of Holland II and he may compete for a reserve guard spot next season at the NBA level.

Chaz Lanier
Lanier did not have the best Summer League but he did show signs of being a key role player in Detroit.
In five games, the 23-year-old guard averaged 10.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 33.9% from the field and 34.1% from three.
Lanier was known for his shooting in college and while he struggled at times shooting the ball during the Summer League, he should have a large role off the bench next season in Detroit.
