The Detroit Pistons have had an interesting offseason thus far as they have made multiple additions to their roster but have also lost some key players from last season.

Of course, the Pistons had a historic turnaround last season as they went from having the NBA’s worst record to making the playoffs behind an incredible season from star guard Cade Cunnigham.

With the Eastern Conference now weakened due to injuries entering next season, Detroit has an opportunity to be one of the top teams in the conference.

So far this summer, the Pistons have added Caris LeVert and Duncan Robinson while losing Tim Hardaway Jr., Dennis Schroder and likely Malik Beasley.

Due to this, Detroit is still looking to add more talent to their roster and they have recently been linked to an emerging star from the Brooklyn Nets.

According to Bet US, the Pistons are now the favorite to land Cam Thomas due to his contract situation in Brooklyn.

Of course, Thomas is a restricted free agent but it has been reported that the Nets have come nowhere near his asking price on a new contract, meaning that he could be on the move this summer via a sign-and-trade.

Thomas would be a solid addition to the Pistons’ backcourt next to Cunningham as he would give them a great young scorer.

Last season, the 23-year-old guard averaged 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 43.8% from the field and 34.9% from three.

Thomas was arguably the Nets’ best player last season as he led the team in scoring and with him now possibly being on the move, many teams around the NBA should show some interest in him.

Detroit will likely be among that group as he would add another lethal scorer to their roster to help them compete near the top of the East next season, though it ultimately depends on what the Nets would want in return for him in a potential sign-and-trade deal.
