The Miami Heat have signed guard Myron Gardner to a two-way contract, NBA insider Chris Haynes was among the first to report Friday.

The team confirmed the acquisition shortly after the news broke.
According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, the two-way contract will be a two-year deal instead of a one-year deal, which is typically what they are.
Gardner, 24, played in four Summer League games with the Heat — two in the California Classic and two in Las Vegas. He averaged 13.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 steals on 64.5 percent true shooting, including a 16-point, six-rebound, four-steal effort in their final Summer League contest against the Milwaukee Bucks.
He spent his last two professional seasons with the Osceola Magic, averaging 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds on 46.6 percent shooting, 33.4 percent from 3-point range (3.2 3PA) and 71.2 percent from the free-throw line. Last year, he averaged 10.0 points and 6.3 rebounds on 49.0/35.3/76.1 shooting splits across 50 G-League games.
Since this is a two-way contract, this move has zero impact on the amount of roster spots taken up and zero impact on the team’s cap sheet. As it stands right now, they still have 14 players on roster and are nearly $2 million over the luxury tax.
Instead, Gardner joins Vlad Goldin as the only Heat players currently signed to two-way deals. Though Miami offered Dru Smith, coming off two consecutive season-ending leg injuries, a two-way qualifying offer earlier this offseason.
