Saniyah Hall announced she committed to the University of Southern California, joining a team that already boasts JuJu Watkins and Jasmine ‘Jazzy’ Davidson.
Hall, the consensus No. 1 recruit in her class, will also be the third No. 1 recruit to join the Trojans, behind the aforementioned Watkins and Davidson. Of note, Watkins was the No. 1 recruit of the 2023 class while Davidson was the top recruit of the 2025 class, with Sarah Strong (2024) committing to UConn.
Though North Carolina and UCLA were both interested in Hall’s services, it was head coach Lindsay Gottlieb and USC that eventually won out. Speaking to ESPN, Hall explained why she selected to play for Gottlieb as Watkins recovers from her ACL injury.

“I would say it felt like home. I loved all of my teammates,” Hall said, per the outlet. “The girls there are so fun to be around. The coaches … have high support, but [head coach Lindsay Gottlieb] is definitely there to just support me and I’ve built a relationship with her — she’s a great coach.”
Of note, Hall announced her commitment shortly after her official visit to USC. What’s more, the star guard shared her decision on playing for the Trojans in a video of her confirming her commitment to the Trojans.
“What’s up, Trojan family? Saniyah Hall here,” the video began. “I’m thankful for my coaches, my family, and everyone who’s been a part of my journey to get me here. The journey is the reward, and my journey has led me to USC. I felt like family as soon as I stepped on campus.

“I’m excited to be here, and this is home. Let’s get to work. Fight on.”
Gottlieb landing Hall is a massive get for the program, with the star guard being named the MVP of the U19 Women’s World Cup.
Leading Team USA to a gold medal, the 6-foot-1 star averaged 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.0 assists per game. She also shot 52.6 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from the 3-point line, showing how dangerous she is as a scorer.
Along with landing Hall, USC also was able to snag 3-point sharpshooter Londynn Jones away from rival UCLA. Jones led the Bruins in 3-pointers last season and will be an important piece for the Trojans as they navigate the year, potentially without Watkins.

Despite her smaller stature, Jones dismissed any notion of her height being an issue, instead claiming that she uses her 5-foot-4 frame to her advantage.
“I feel like the one thing I do get a lot is like, ‘Oh my God, you’re so small,'” Jones told the Los Angeles Daily News. “But I’m around tall people all day, so, yes, I am small, but I make sure to tell them, ‘You guys are just big, I’m actually average.'”
As the program braces for a season without Watkins, it can take solace in the fact that Davidson is committed to USC. During the 2025 Nike Hoops Summit between Team World and Team USA, coach Dan Rolfes effusively praised Davidson.
”I mean, if I had to describe her, it would be smooth,” he said. “I feel like she gets down the floor in about five steps. And she’s just so versatile. She’s long, can get to the rim, can shoot the 3, just a dynamic player, good defender. I mean, she’s just so well-rounded.”
