EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – On Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m. the Detroit Pistons will play the Phoenix Suns in a preseason game at Michigan State University’s Breslin Center.
The Pistons have held preseason games at the Breslin Center in the past, once in 2018 and once in 2000.
The matchup will feature teams with deep ties to Spartan basketball. Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores and Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia are both Michigan State alumni.
Mat Ishbia was a four-year member of the Spartan basketball team and won a National Championship with MSU in 2000. Gores graduated from MSU with a bachelor’s degree in construction management in 1986.
“We’re excited to welcome the Pistons and the Suns to Breslin Center,” Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo said, “Two teams we’re fortunate enough to have great relationships with and close ties to our school and our team”.
