Only days after being waived by the Boston Celtics, former Alabama Crimson Tide basketball standout JD Davison has now reportedly found a new home in the NBA.

According to a report Saturday from NBA insider Chris Haynes, Davison has signed with the Houston Rockets. The Rockets also later announced the signing Sunday, along with the news that Davison has signed a two-way contract.

A member of Boston’s 2024 NBA championship-winning team, Davison has spent each of the past three seasons in the Celtics organization, with a majority of the time coming in the NBA G League. With Boston, Davison appeared in only 36 games during that span where he averaged 1.9 points per game on 38.5% shooting from the field.

Davison, a former second round pick from the 2022 NBA draft, is also coming off a career-year in which he won the 2024-25 NBA G League MVP award, and now heads to Houston where the former Alabama guard joins yet another NBA title contender.
