JD Davison has found a new home after being waived from the Boston Celtics on July 23.

On Saturday, Davison, a former All-SEC freshman, agreed to a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets.

Davison is now eligible to play in 50 of the Rockets 82 games for next season.

The Celtics picked up Davison’s team option on June 29 but waived him for salary cap purposes.

Davison is coming off a season where he won G-League MVP for the Maine Celtics, Boston’s G-League affiliate. He averaged 25.6 points, 7.7 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals.

In his lone season with Alabama in 2021-22, Davison averaged 8.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in nearly 26 minutes per game in 33 games.

Over the past four seasons, Davison averaged 1.9 points in 36 games for the Celtics.
