LeBron James might have just dropped a major hint about his future in the NBA.

The 40-year-old is set to enter Year 23 in a very unique position. He picked up his player option with the LA Lakers, and since then, rumors of his potential exit have circulated.

Dallas Mavericks and Cleveland Cavaliers are two teams that have been linked with pushing for a move, but this seems to be LeBron James‘ last season with the Lakers, who would not want to lose his services without receiving any assets.

There have also been talks about this being James’ final season in the league, but an image that has been released is creating buzz around the league.

Nikola Jokic also made a decision that raised some questions within the Denver Nuggets franchise as he declined a contract extension with them.

Jokic will only become a free agent in 2028, but the team would not want to wait that long, as he is one of the best players in the league.

There have been rumblings of some big moves expected next year and Jokic’s agent being pictured with James has certainly led fans to believe the same now.

They reacted to the image on X, with one saying: “Jokic to the Lakers. He’ll join Bron and Luka wow.”

While another said: “LeBron- Luka-Jokic Lakers confirmed 2027.”

One user added: “Nobody is stopping Bron and Jokic chills man.”

You gotta give it to LeBron – his mind games are next level when it comes to contract stuff. The execution obviously needs some improvement, but this kind of stuff is just *chef’s kiss*

Some also suspected this would mean James could move to Denver.

“Lebron going to Colorado was not something I would have said could happen,” a user tweeted.

Another remarked: “A LeBron-Jokic-Murray trio would break basketball. Elite playmaking, off-ball IQ, and spacing on another level. That’s a 130+ ORTG waiting to happen. The real super team we deserve.”

LeBron James-Nikola Jokic duo would work only in Denver

James and Jokic are two of the smartest basketball players in the league. Them teaming up together would mean wonderful offense, but could come with defensive limitations.

Compared to the Denver Nuggets, the Lakers are still a work in progress despite the arrival of Marcus Smart and Deandre Ayton.

The Nuggets have a roster where most of the players have played together for a while. Additionally, the Nuggets also added some brilliant shooters in the offseason, which would make it better for Jokic and James.

They can just play their natural game and kick the ball out to teammates when they need help.

Cam Johnson and Bruce Brown can both shoot 40% from three-point range consistently. Playing alongside a duo of Jokic and James would benefit them greatly.

While Jokic still has a few years left on his contract, this seems to be the last season for James with the Lakers.

If he is to move to another team, the Purple and Gold would need a good deal and while the Nuggets have elite players, it does not make sense for them to trade their assets for James, who is approaching the end of his career.

He could just join them next season and help the Nuggets become a formidable force in the Western Conference.
