PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Since the Paul Allen estate announced in May that the Trail Blazers are officially up for sale, many have questioned what that means for the team’s future.
Will someone with ties to Oregon and deep enough pockets step up or will future prospects see the team moving on to a new city?
Now, a number of local sports and business executives have formed a new advocacy group, Rip City Forever, calling on the community to rally to keep the team here.
Must Portland confront the real danger of losing the Blazers?
Willamette Week tackles that question in this week’s issue.
To break it down, KATU’s Steve Dunn was joined by WW’s Managing Editor Aaron Mesh on Wednesday.
