The Brooklyn Nets closed out a turbulent 2024–25 campaign with a 113-105 loss to the New York Knicks at Barclays Center on Sunday, capping off a season sweep by their cross-town rivals. The defeat sealed a 26-56 finish for Brooklyn in its first season under head coach Jordi Fernández — the sixth-worst record in the league — as attention now turns to the upcoming NBA Draft and an offseason filled with pivotal decisions.
Brooklyn entered the finale heavily undermanned, with a long list of key absences: Cam Thomas (hamstring), Day’Ron Sharpe (knee), D’Angelo Russell (ankle), Cam Johnson (back), Noah Clowney (ankle), Ziaire Williams (patella), and Reece Beekman (calf) were all sidelined.

Despite a competitive effort, the Nets were unable to overcome the shortfall, allowing New York to complete a 4-0 season series sweep.

Following the game, the organization thanked fans on social media for their loyalty:
“Thank you for all of your support this season, #NetsWorld”
With the season now in the rearview, the Nets’ focus pivots to the draft lottery on May 12, where they’ll hope to secure a high pick to accelerate their rebuild. Brooklyn will also host the NBA Draft on June 25, putting the franchise under the spotlight as it looks to reshape its roster.
Among the top offseason priorities will be the future of Cam Thomas, who is set to become a restricted free agent. The 23-year-old guard has been one of Brooklyn’s few bright spots this season, and retaining him will be a key storyline in what figures to be a busy summer for the front office.
