MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies are headed across the pond next year but with a price: no MLK Day game in Memphis.

The NBA announced Wednesday morning the Grizzlies will be headed to Berlin and London next year. The Grizzlies will take the court against the Orlando Magic in Berlin on Jan. 15, and the NBA London Game 2026 will be on Jan. 18. MLK Day is Monday, Jan. 19.

Both games are the first regular season games the Grizzlies will play outside North America and the sixth and seventh games Memphis played outside the US and Canada.

The game held in Berlin will be the first regular season NBA game played in Germany.

“We appreciate the opportunity to represent the NBA and to represent the city of Memphis and state of Tennessee on an international stage in Berlin and London,” Grizzlies President Jason Wexler said. “In order to undertake this rare opportunity to bring Memphis to an international audience, it will require the team to be away from home for MLK Day. However, we remain committed to supporting the Memphis community over the MLK Day holiday while the team is traveling, and we look forward to the Grizzlies once again anchoring the NBA’s MLK Day schedule in 2027.”
