It’s been a busy summer for the Boston Celtics, starting with the decision to trade away Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis. Since then, Brad Stevens has searched for talent that could emerge as diamonds in the rough, as he looks to buy low and sell high to help retool the current roster and get it back to a championship level.

Unfortunately for Celtics fans, Stevens’ methods mean that the upcoming season will likely be a tough one. Boston isn’t expected to be among the contending teams in the Eastern Conference, and they may struggle to end the campaign as a .500 team. However, there does appear to be a method to Stevens’ approach, in that if some of the new additions impress, they will bring a higher return on the trade market.
