After a disappointing end to Game 3, the Pistons seek to tie this Eastern Conference first-round series at 2-2 when they host the Knicks on Sunday afternoon.
It was a much anticipated game, the first home playoff game for the Pistons in six years. But it ended in a close, if not controversial, 118-116 loss for Detroit. Pistons head coach J.B. Bickerstaff had questions about a no-call with seconds remaining that the NBA has stood by in the aftermath.
After the Game 3 loss, Detroit now looks to avoid losing both home games and fall in a 3-1 series hole. To do that, they’ll have to find a way to contain Jalen Brunson. Brunson has scored 10-plus points in the fourth quarter of every game so far, even in Game 3’s hostile conditions for him.
The Pistons will need help from those other than Cade Cunningham in this Game 4. Malik Beasley looks to get out of his slump, as the Sixth Man of the Year award finalist has shot just 3-for-18 from 3-point range in the last two games.
