Is New York Knicks star point guard Jalen Brunson a more reliable player than Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum? In the wake of the Celtics Game 2 loss to the Knicks in their 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals second round series at TD Garden on this past Wednesday (May 7) night, such was the position taken by the eponymous host of the “Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf” podcast when looking back and analyzing the second New York win of the series.
Is this a bad take based on recency bias, or is there some substance to Timpf’s take about the reliability of the St. Louis native compared to that of the Knicks floor general? And what does he think about Boston’s odds of coming back to win this series and not be yet another defending champ going out in the second round of the postseason?
