CLEVELAND (WJW) — While reality TV star Khloe Kardashian and Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Tristan Thompson are no longer dating, the two are still very much involved in each other’s lives.
The two share children True and Tatum and now Kardashian said she has taken over the primary caretaker role for Thompson’s brother, Amari, who is disabled.

Kardashian, 41, was asked about Amari on a recent episode of her “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast.
“For those who don’t know, Tristan has a younger brother who is 18 years old, and he is severely disabled. Amari has LGS [Lennox-Gastaut syndrome], which is a form of epilepsy, and he is disabled,” Kardashian said on the podcast. “He can’t walk or talk. He’s never been able to talk.”

When Tristan’s mother Andrea died of a sudden heart attack in January 2023 in Canada, he worked to get guardianship of his brother, and Kardashian said the teen came to live with them all in the United States.
Kardashian explained to her listeners that since Tristan is on the road so much with his career, and travel is not good for Amari, he stays with her in Los Angeles.

“Amari has a handful of seizures a day with the type of epilepsy that he has,” she said, explaining that she absolutely loves “having Amari be a part of my family” and that it helps her children and nieces and nephews learn about compassion and the similarities between all kinds of people.
The teen has two paid caretakers, who Kardashian described as “sensational,” and help him have the “best, most beautiful life that we know how.”
She said people continue to ask her why she helps with Amari’s care when she’s no longer with Tristan, but she said she always had a great relationship with his mother.
“Amari deserves someone who will be there for him, take care of him, provide a great lifestyle for him and so Amari deserves my love and care, regardless of where me and Tristan stand,” she said during the podcast.
