One Boston Celtics star gives much-needed injury update to fans ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Following a second-round exit last season, the Boston Celtics broke up the core that led them to the 2024 NBA Championship.
The Celtics did so by trading Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday. Additionally, they allowed center Luke Kornet to sign with the San Antonio Spurs as a free agent.
The organization also has no plans to bring back Al Horford. To make things worse, the C’s have been bitten by the injury bug as Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Neemias Queta all suffered serious injuries.

For context, Queta underwent a knee surgery to finally address an injury that had been lingering for years.
Queta recently shared his honest opinion on making the decision and his road to recovery before the start of the new season.
“We feel pretty confident in the process, and we’re just grateful that we were taken care of, and I want to make sure I’m healthy and get back to 100% and I feel like I’m on the right path to do that.
I don’t think it’s easy. I’ve had a couple before, but I was pretty much rehabbing and just getting strength back into the leg and stuff,” Queta told Bobby Manning of CLNS Media.
He added: “It’s pretty much a new me, and we just want to get it the best possible way we can right away so we have a high ceiling or a high standard.
“… whether it gets set back every now and then, we know we started at a great spot for now.”
All things considered, Queta looks all set to feature on the roster for the Celtics next season, this time at his 100%.
Neemias Queta will need to fill Al Horford’s role for the Boston Celtics
Since joining the team in 2021, Queta has been a role player for the franchise. After all, veteran center Al Horford had the starting role locked in during that time.
However, Horford is no longer a member of the Celtics. With Kornet also gone, Queta has become the automatic first-choice center for the C’s.
Queta averaged 5.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game for the Celtics last season while playing just 13.9 minutes per game.
Considering he is expected to be promoted to the starting five, fans will likely see a significant bump in Queta’s production on the court.
