IOWA CITY, Iowa — Trevin Jirak is no longer a newcomer—he’s already settling into life as a Hawkeye. The 6-foot-11 big man from Valley High in West Des Moines dominated high school hoops, capturing three Class 4A state titles and earning titles like Mr. Basketball and MaxPreps Player of the Year. Now in his first months in Iowa City, he’s embraced offseason workouts, team chemistry building, and learning under Coach McCollum.
