Luka Doncic has finally signed his long-awaited contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was an important step in Luka Doncic’s career with the Los Angeles Lakers. After all, he was traded to the team against his will last season.

Doncic’s three-year, $165 million contract will kick in after the end of the 2025-26 NBA season. Speaking of his contract extension, a clip of him talking to general manager Rob Pelinka went viral.

The clip, posted by ESPN Los Angeles on X, shows Doncic and Pelinka talking after the 26-year-old put his signature on the dotted line.

After paying close attention to the clip, NBA fans noticed Lakers guard Gabe Vincent was also in the frame. Vincent was casually trying out a couple of layups, but he missed them both.

Upon seeing those botched layups, the Laker Nation quickly decided to flood the comments of the X post with hilarious jabs directed at Vincent.

“Gabe in the back throwing up bricks,” a fan wrote. While another added: “Did Gabe just miss a wide-open layup as an NBA star?”

“Gabe is already missing shots smh,” a third fan added.

“Get Gabe off of the team,” a fourth fan urged.

“Trade Gabe immediately,” a fifth fan stated with urgency.

The Lakers fanbase unanimously urged the franchise to part ways with the 29-year-old guard. Now, that’s not a good sign in the preseason.

Gabe Vincent has struggled on the Los Angeles Lakers

Despite going undrafted in 2018, Vincent slowly found his way to the NBA, thanks to the Miami Heat showing trust in him.

Vincent repaid that trust during the 2023 NBA Playoffs, where he averaged 12.7 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game for the Heat.

Unfortunately, Vincent has failed to repeat the same level of production since signing with the LA Lakers in the summer of 2023.

In the last two seasons, Gabe has put up 6.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game for the team. Additionally, the Lakers barely played him during the playoffs, showing a lack of trust.

Considering Vincent is in the final year of his deal with the Lakers, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the franchise tries to trade him at some point during the upcoming season.
