Bam Adebayo has finally had his say on the Miami Heat’s latest addition to their roster, and his comments indicate that he is happy.

The franchise made it to the playoffs after winning the play-in tournament, but they were no competition to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round as they suffered a historic defeat.

Since the team traded away Jimmy Butler, they have not been at their best, and some big changes were expected in the offseason.

There were rumors that the Miami Heat were one of the teams interested in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes, but the two-time champion decided to take his talents to the Houston Rockets instead.

This led Pat Riley to make another move to strengthen the roster by bringing in an NBA champion.

Bam Adebayo did not have the best of individual seasons and that reflected on the Heat’s form as well.

It was clear that they needed a few more acquisitions to strengthen the team, which is why they moved for Norman Powell.

Powell had the best year of his career last season, averaging 21.8 points for the LA Clippers.

He elevated his game to the next level and took charge when James Harden and Kawhi Leonard were not on the team. Powell revealed he was told by the Clippers that they wanted to keep him before proceeding to trade him away.

Bringing him to the Heat will give them an added scoring presence, something they have been missing for a while.

Adebayo was pleased with the addition and spoke on what Powell brings to the team in a recent interview.

He said: “I feel like Norman is one of those guys that floats under the radar. But as you saw this year, he’s really shown that he can be an All-Star caliber player.

“You’ve seen what he’s done and you’ve seen him grow in this league. And, obviously, he wants to take the next challenge. Obviously, the next challenge is being with the Miami Heat. So I’m happy to have him.”

The Heat had three major incomings in the offseason, including their 20th overall pick Kasparas Jakucionis, who was part of the Summer League roster.

They lost players like Kevin Love, Kyle Anderson, Duncan Robinson, and Alec Burks, but Adebayo is happy with the roster.

“It’s a very good shake up for our team,” Adebayo added.

The team also decided to retain Davion Mitchell on a two-year, $24 million contract. His defensive brilliance has impressed Adebayo, who is excited about the prospect of playing next season with him.

He said: “Davion being back, obviously, we’ve been missing somebody that can really play on-ball defense.

“Having him come in and be that guy and understand his role, I’m looking forward to him being here for a full year and all of us being together and getting to know one another and turning this into more of a brotherhood.

“We were kind of disconnected a little bit trying to figure out everybody’s role and trying to figure out everybody’s style of play. But now we’re going to have a good training camp and then we go from there.”
