Il Fenerbahce, the reigning EuroLeague champion, is close to making a major transfer move.
The Turkish club, in fact, has reached a basic agreement for the arrival in Türkiye of Brandon Boston Jr, American winger who wore the New Orleans Pelicans jersey last season.
In the podcast exclusively for premium chat users We had anticipated that an agreement between the two parties was close.
Brandon Boston Jr. had already been linked to other European clubs in recent weeks, such as Olympiacos, but Fenerbahce beat out everyone else in the race for the American player and now only the final details are missing to finalize the deal.
The Turkish club lost some key players this offseason with the departures of Marko Guduric, Nigel Hayes-Davis and Errick McCollum, but the addition of Boston Jr. should help mitigate, at least in part, those losses.
Brandon Boston Jr, a Kentucky alumnus, was selected with the 51st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
After spending his first NBA seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers, last offseason he moved to the New Orleans Pelicans, who initially signed him to a two-way contract that was later converted into a standard deal.
With the Pelicans, Boston Jr. played 42 games averaging 11 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game.
Able to play both the 2 and 3, the American player should bring further versatility to coach Jasikevicius’ roster.
