Former Russellville Cyclone and Arkansas Tech Wonder Boy turned NBA player Taelon Peter was recently in town working out ahead of his rookie season. Following a successful Summer League debut, Peter got feedback from the Indiana Pacers organization about his performance and expectations for this season.

“They said to get in the best shape of my life,” Peter said. “They were pleasantly surprised in my defense and said that they liked to see me make some plays there as well as my shooting.”

The Pacers figure to utilize Peter as a highly sought after “Three and D” player, who will be tasked with guarding the opponent’s better guards and forwards on defense, while being focused on hitting open threes and helping space the floor on offense.

Peter’s athleticism will give him the ability to hang with the best basketball players in the world, while his shooting touch and high flying capabilities may be what catch headlines. The talented local will be shipping out late this month to handle off the court NBA tasks before things really get rolling on the floor in September.Â
