CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) – UNI head men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson has signed a contract extension, keeping him Cedar Falls for the next five years, Director of Athletics Megan Franklin announced Monday.
The winningest coach in Northern Iowa men’s basketball history, Jacobson signed a five-year rolling contract.

Jacobson has been named MVC Coach of the Year five times, most recently in 2022.
“I am both excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue to lead our men’s basketball program,” said Jacobson in a release. “We are in the midst of big changes across the college athletics landscape. Megan has a unique perspective, bold vision and the determination to position Panther Athletics for great success. I couldn’t be more excited to work closely with her as the leader of our men’s basketball program.”
