Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Joan Beringer was among the players spotted working out at the team practice facility in pictures posted Monday by the team on X.
Beringer helped Cedevita Olimpija win the Slovenian Basketball Cup last season, averaging 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks on 64.4% shooting from the field. He scored in double figures 11 times, including a season-high 14 points and 10 rebounds on May 27.
The 17th pick hit the gym along with fellow rookie Rocco Zikarsky and guard Jaylen Clark. The group has had the opportunity to work with each other in the early going and appears to be building strong chemistry ahead of next season.
Beringer made four appearances with the Timberwolves in the NBA Summer League, averaging 6.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 assists on 52.6% shooting from the field. He debuted with 11 points, eight rebounds and six blocks on July 10.
Zikarsky posted averages of 3.4 points and 2.2 rebounds on 66.7% shooting from the field in three games. Despite seeing eight minutes per game, Zikarsky finished off his stay in the desert with an eight-point performance on July 19.
The Timberwolves were excited to add Beringer and Zikarsky to the roster. They each bring unique skill sets to the roster and project to have bright futures ahead.
