Mike Hopkins has taken a job as the assistant coach and head of player development with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Hopkins spent last season with the Phoenix Suns working as an assistant.

He worked as the head coach at Washington from 2017 to 2024.

Before that, he was an assistant at Syracuse from 1995 to 2017.

During his time as an assistant, Hopkins helped develop Jason Hart and Allen Griffin.

He also served as head coach during Jim Boeheim’s nine-game suspension from December 5th, 2015 to January 5th, 2016.

Hopkins played at Syracuse from 1989 to 1993, and was a captain during his senior season.
