SAN ANTONIO — According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the San Antonio Spurs have reached an agreement on a 4-year, $229 million max contract extension with All-Star guard De’Aaron Fox. The deal was confirmed to ESPN by Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports.

Fox was traded to the Spurs last season from the Sacramento Kings at the trade deadline. San Antonio was Fox’s preferred destination, and this contract extension will keep him in San Antonio through the 2029-30 season. He had season-ending surgery in March, but was averaging nearly 20 points per game with the Spurs before his season came to a close.

Fox and fellow superstar Victor Wembenyama, will join the No. 2 overall pick, Dylan Harper, and emergent player Stephon Castle to provide what should be a very potent lineup when the new season begins in October.
