Luka Doncic has quickly become a fan favorite for the Los Angeles Lakers.

A key reason behind it is Luka Doncic showing his commitment to the Los Angeles Lakers after getting traded to the iconic franchise out of the blue.

He did so by going through an impressive transformation to get into the best shape of his NBA career. It proves Doncic is serious about winning rings with the Lakers.

Additionally, Doncic truly became a beloved star for the Laker Nation after signing a three-year, $165 million contract extension this summer.

Over the last few days, Doncic’s three-year extension has been the talk of the town. Moreover, Doncic is all set to play for Slovenia in EuroBasket 2025, so it makes sense that he has been in the headlines.

However, it felt like the Boston Celtics felt left out due to Doncic grabbing all the attention. After all, it made no sense to post a picture of Jayson Tatum blocking Doncic during a play.

Evidently, the Laker Nation was furious with this X post as numerous fans spoke out in favor of their face of the franchise.

“Watch your mouth,” one fan wrote. While another added: “Corny tweet, bro.”

“Delete this now,” a third fan added.

“Y’all mad Luka is better than Tatum,” a furious Laker fan stated.

“What’s the point of the tweet?” a fan asked.

Indeed, the timing of the tweet seemed unexpected as the passionate Lakers fanbase came running to Doncic’s defense.

Boston Celtics double down on controversial Luka Doncic tweet

While some Lakers fans expected the Celtics X handle to delete the tweet, they did the exact opposite thing.

Yes, the Celtics’ X handle doubled down on their controversial tweet by following it up with a video of the block.

It will be interesting to see how Doncic responds to this. To be fair, it’s likely the C’s just poked the bear, and Doncic will scorch the team during the next Lakers vs Celtics game.
