OKLAHOMA CITY, (KOKH) — The Oklahoma City Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a shooting that took place after the Oklahoma City Thunder Finals game on June 22, 2025.
According to OCPD, the shooting took place in Scissortail Park following the game and resulted in one juvenile male victim with a non-life-threatening injury.
On June 24, police officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle that was driven by Kaziya Penn, age 20. In Penn’s vehicle, officers located a handgun.
Penn was arrested for unlawfully carrying a firearm.
Through the investigation, Penn’s handgun was entered into the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) and was determined as the weapon used in the shooting on June 22.
Penn was additionally charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon on Aug. 4, 2025.
