A man was arrested for shooting a 14-year-old boy in Scissortail Park following the OKC Thunder’s Game 7 win in the NBA Finals. Officers found the teenager on the ground near an ambulance with a gunshot wound to his right leg. The victim was transported to OU Health with non-life-threatening injuries. He told officers in the hospital that he did not know who the shooter was or why he was shot, according to court documents. Officers searched the area, but they did not find any suspects. Two days later, an officer stopped a vehicle near Scissortail Park for driving without a tag light. Since he was only 20, he was not allowed to carry the pistol. The firearm was sent to the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network for testing, where it was confirmed to be the weapon used to shoot the teenager. Data obtained from Penn’s cellphone placed him in the area of the shooting during the NBA Finals game.
