Gate City, VA — The 3-time defending NBA slam dunk champion, Mac McClung, was back in the area tonight for a special honor.

As you heard earlier, McClung was honored tonight by Gate City Frontier for his accomplishments on and off the basketball court.
After being released by the Orlando Magic over a month ago, McClung is a free agent and is waiting on someone to call and say they need the help of the 26-year-old guard, who has tremendous athletic talent.
Until then, we asked where his NBA dream stood, and if he would give the slam dunk contest one more shot.

“My agent’s talking to teams right now, and, just whenever I get that call, I’ll be ready. You know, this game, this business. You never know, but I hope so, says McClung.”

“If they ever ask you to do the slam dunk contest again, would you be interested in doing that again?”

“Yeah, I mean, I would consider it. I’m not sure right now. I’m leaning probably towards not, but, you know, anything can happen. I never want to say, says McClung.”

McClung played in 6 NBA games as a member of the Magic, Sixers, Bulls, and Lakers and averaged 5.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12 minutes of time.
