New head coach of Sacramento State Men’s Basketball and Sacramento Kings legend Mike Bibby joins the Drive Guys to talk about the hiring of Mike Woodson as an assistant coach for the Kings, how he feels about being back in Sacramento at the same time as his former teammates Doug Christie and Bobby Jackson, and more.
Bibby played under Woodson with the Atlanta Hawks and New York Knicks and spoke highly of Sacramento’s new assistant as a player’s coach who also isn’t afraid to tell the truth to his players.
With he and Christie both being head coaches back in Sacramento, Bibby expressed his enjoyment for the opportunity in California’s capital that meant so much to him during his playing carer.
“I wouldn’t have wanted to start my career off coaching anywhere else,” he said. “It’s like a dream come true.”

The Athletic‘s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Friday morning to discuss the Sacramento Kings adding B.J. Armstrong and Mike Woodson to their staff, the impact of former agents in front offices, and more.
Given that Armstrong spent nearly two decades as a player agent following his extensive time as a player and front office member with the Chicago Bulls, what do those relationships mean for the Kings now that he’s been named assistant general manager under Scott Perry?
“B.J. has the ability as well, relationship-wise, to connect with these agents that he’s obviously known for a long time.”” Amick said Friday.
