After being bluntly left out of last year’s Christmas Day slate, the Oklahoma City Thunder have returned to playing on the NBA’s all-day slate. They will host the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, Dec. 25, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The rest of the 2025-26 regular season schedule will be released later this month. The Thunder will enter the season as a popular championship choice. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren headline the NBA champion.
Meanwhile, the Spurs are viewed as an up-and-coming squad. Victor Wembanyama has made them must-watch TV despite a recent lack of success. That could change soon, though. De’Aaron Fox was recently given a contract extension to stay. They drafted Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper with back-to-back top-four picks.
Of course, the Wembanyama and Holmgren rivalry always makes the Thunder and Spurs matchups must-see. Both seven-footers were viewed as modern-day centers who would change the course of their respective franchise. The rest of the 2025 Christmas slate was also announced:
