A watch party is planned in San Francisco on Wednesday for a Golden State Warriors postseason game that could end with the team moving on to the next round of the National Basketball Association playoffs.
The Warriors are up 3-1 against the Houston Rockets in the best-of-7 Western Conference first round series of the NBA playoffs and Game 5 is in Houston on Wednesday.
The free watch party is planned at Thrive City, the plaza outside of the Warriors’ Chase Center arena in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood. There will be live music and other activities before the 4:30 p.m. tipoff of the game that will be streamed on a screen that the Warriors tout as the largest outdoor video board in San Francisco.
If the Warriors win Wednesday, they will move on to the next round of the playoffs to face either the Minnesota Timberwolves or Los Angeles Lakers. A loss Wednesday will send the series back to San Francisco for Game 6 on Friday.
Although admission is free to Wednesday’s watch party, fans are encouraged to RSVP in advance for priority admission.
