Law enforcement responded to Hopkins High School Saturday night after a fight broke out at a basketball tournament.
A spokesperson for Hopkins Public Schools said that law enforcement and emergency responders were called to Hopkins High School during a basketball tournament hosted by Strictly BBall.
The Minnetonka Police Department said they responded around 7:20 p.m. to the fight that appeared to involve a handful of juveniles and a large crowd of bystanders.
Minnetonka police said there was an initial report of a shot fired, but officers found no evidence of a gun being discharged. They add that during the fight, some juveniles were sprayed with Mace by other juveniles and were treated on scene by paramedics.
The spokesperson added that Strictly BBall was renting the facility and that Hopkins High School was not the event sponsor.
Minnetonka police added that they are monitoring the area overnight.
Due to the fight, the Hopkins Police Department sent out a public safety alert asking everyone at the school to leave the area.
