It is no mystery that for some time now the Virtus Bologna is on the market to find a big man who can provide guarantees under the basket.
In the last few days, the Bologna’s side was connected to Kenneth Faried but now it looks like their target is gonna be somebody else.
As reported by Alessandro Maggi of Sportando, in fact, Virtus Bologna would be very close to an agreement with Kai jones.
The Bahamas-born big man was selected in the first round of the 2021 draft by the Charlotte Hornets but was waived after two seasons with the Hornets due to a series of behaviors deemed unacceptable by the franchise.
Jones started last season with the Los Angeles Clippers before moving to the Dallas Mavericks.
A player with great athleticism and significant defensive potential, Jones would be making his first experience in Europe.
With the Dallas Mavericks, in 12 games, Kai Jones put up interesting numbers, averaging 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
His arrival would give Virtus a solid alternative to Momo Diouf in the 5 role, so as to face the season with more serenity.
