An NBA trade idea where the Milwaukee Bucks acquire Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins and Kel’el Ware from the Miami Heat has been created.
NBA writer Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report created the following trade idea between the Bucks and Heat:
Miami Heat Receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks Receive: Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins, Kel’el Ware, 2027 first-round swap, 2029 first-round swap, 2030 first-round pick, 2031 first-round swap, 2032 first-round pick
Hughes created this trade idea after NBA insider Shams Charania of ESPN reported on August 4 that Antetokounmpo is still evaluating his future with the Bucks, who have won just one playoff series since winning the 2021 championship against the Phoenix Suns in six games.
“As we sit here on August 4, sources tell me there is nothing set in stone about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to stay in Milwaukee or whether he wants to leave elsewhere,” Charania said. “He’s been evaluating his future this entire offseason. I reported way back in mid-May that he’s open-minded about whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or is it a trade elsewhere.”
If Antetokounmpo requests a trade from the Bucks, the Heat are expected to heavily pursue the two-time MVP. This NBA trade idea lands Milwaukee three talented players and multiple draft picks for The Greek Freak.
For the Heat last season, Herro averaged 23.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 77 games. He made his first All-Star team and shot 47.2% from the field, 37.5% from beyond the arc and 87.8% from the free-throw line. The 25-year-old will make $31 million next season.
Wiggins played for the Golden State Warriors and Heat last season. Golden State traded the 2022 NBA champion to Miami in the blockbuster Jimmy Butler trade. Wiggins played in 60 games with the Warriors and Heat. He averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field, 37.4% from beyond the arc and 76.3% from the free-throw line. The 30-year-old will make $28.2 million next season.
Ware appeared in 64 games for the Heat last season. He averaged 9.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks while shooting 55.4% from the field, 31.5% from 3 and 68.7% from the foul line. The 21-year-old will make $4.4 million next season.
