BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham Squadron, the NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, is set to host a one-day open tryout for local basketball players. The event will take place on Saturday, September 20, at the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, starting at 8:30 a.m.

This tryout offers players the opportunity to showcase their basketball skills in front of the Birmingham Squadron’s coaches and basketball operations staff. Successful participants may earn a spot on the Squadron’s training camp roster for the 2025-26 season.

This marks the fifth consecutive year the team has hosted tryouts, with the last four being held at the Lakeshore Foundation. Only the first 60 players to register will be eligible to participate.

To register, players must meet the NBA G League eligibility requirements and complete the registration process by submitting a nonrefundable $250 fee, along with a registration form, medical consent form, and eligibility form by September 19 at 5 p.m. CT. These forms will be sent via email from bhaminfo@pelicans.com after the fee is paid.
