HUNTINGTON, W.Va . (WSAZ) – West Virginia, Ohio State and Ohio will be heading to Cleveland in mid-December. They will be taking part in a doubleheader at Rocket Arena with the fourth team being St. Bonaventure. The event is sponsored by Intersport and will be on Saturday December 13th with starting times to be announced on a later date.
Ohio will take on St. Bonaventure with West Virginia playing Ohio State.
All four programs took part in a similar event two years ago. Here are reactions from the head coaches of the Mountaineers, Buckeyes and Bobcats.
West Virginia Head Coach Ross Hodge
“This is another exciting early season matchup that we are looking forward to playing against a really solid team from the Big Ten Conference. This will be the third time that WVU and Ohio State have played in Cleveland since 2019, and I know it’s a border game that our fans enjoy. It also gives our team the opportunity to play in an NBA arena with the likelihood of playing on national television in December.”
