Mike Muscala is a big part of Philadelphia 76ers lore. Along with being a solid player for the Sixers averaging 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in the 47 games he played for the team in the 2018-19 season, he also made the shot that allowed the Sixers to draft current star guard Tyrese Maxey.

While with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the bubble in 2020, Muscala made a game-winning triple to beat the Miami Heat and allow the pick they owed the Sixers to convey as the No. 21 pick was given to Philadelphia. The Sixers then used that pick to select Maxey.

As Muscala now transitions to the next chapter of his basketball career, he has found a new home in the NBA as a coach. He will join Jordan Ott’s staff with the Phoenix Suns.

Muscala fashioned himself a solid NBA career and one has to believe he will be a good teacher for that group as the Suns move forward.
